Poiché il suo fiore spettacolare si apre solo dopo il tramonto e appassisce al sorgere del sole, si dice che Maria Antonietta convocò l'artista botanico Pierre-Joseph Redouté a mezzanotte per catturare la bellezza toccante e fugace delle specie di cactus del Nuovo Mondo. Cierge de Lune abbraccia una gamma emozionante, da note alte cristalline a profonde fusa notturne di vaniglia speziata intrecciata con ciuffi di incenso. Per aggiungere vivacità e luminosità, il scintillante pepe rosa lancia bagliori di luce lunare nella miscela vellutata, mentre il pepe nero traccia un filo intrigante, dagli effetti minerali, simili all'incenso - un cenno al tema olfattivo della linea Aedes de Venustas - a quelli resinosi, note affumicate e di cioccolato fondente. Poi, in una metamorfosi finale, l'ambrox muschiato, sottolineato da un accordo di soffice pelle scamosciata, trasforma la fioritura notturna in una seconda pelle scura.
